Suiko

Suiko, or water tigers, are aquatic spirits derived from Chinese mythology, believed to bring floods and misfortune. In Japan, they symbolize the power of water and are often acknowledged in agricultural rituals.

Legend

One tale speaks of a Suiko that emerged from a river during a drought, causing floods and replenishing fields. Villagers revered it, building shrines to honor its prowess over water.
