Nue

Nue is a mythical creature depicted as a shadowy chimera with elements of various animals. Famous for plaguing the Emperor’s palace, its defeat by Minamoto no Yorimasa illustrates themes of courage and the triumph over supernatural evils, representing both nightmares and wickedness in the world.

Legend

Legend states that Nue brought misfortune to the emperor, spreading terror. Yorimasa, called upon to end its terror, harbored an unyielding spirit and defeated it, signifying the restoration of peace and the safeguarding of the realm from demonic influence.
