Bakeneko

Bakeneko are supernatural cats that possess the ability to shape-shift and can even speak human languages. These spirits are known to seek revenge on those who mistreat them, blurring the line between domestic animals and vengeful spirits.

Legend

In one famous tale, a bakeneko avenged its owner's death by taking on the appearance of a human and exposing the murderer, illustrating the bond between cats and their humans.
