Tsubaki Ōkami Yashiro

Considered the spiritual home of misogi practices, Tsubaki Ōkami Yashiro is dedicated to Sarutahiko Ōkami, the deity of the root of all things. Pilgrims engage in water purification rituals using the nearby Tsubaki River. The shrine hosts annual misogi ceremonies and is an important center for ascetic practices.
