Taiwan Grand Shrine

Constructed during the Japanese colonial era, Taiwan Grand Shrine was a significant Shinto shrine dedicated to the worship of Emperor Meiji and subsequently Emperor Showa. It exemplified Japanese cultural influence in Taiwan between 1901 and 1945. The structure was demolished post-war, but remains a symbol of the historical interplay of Shinto and Taiwan's colonial past.
