Karafuto Jinja

Karafuto Jinja was the principal Shinto shrine built for the Japanese settlers on Sakhalin Island during Japan’s administration over the territory. It served as a center for Shinto worship until the island came under Soviet control post-World War II, leading to the shrine’s eventual closure.
