Addis Ababa Amaterasu Jinja

Established within the compound of the Japanese Embassy's cultural annex in Ethiopia's capital, this small shrine is dedicated exclusively to Amaterasu Ōmikami, the solar goddess who stands at the apex of the Shinto pantheon and is the divine ancestor of the Imperial family. The shrine serves Japan's diplomatic community in Ethiopia and hosts public ceremonies on major Shinto dates.
