Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto

Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is the moon god and sibling of Amaterasu and Susanoo. Representing night and the counterbalance of daylight, he plays a visual and thematic role in the cycles of nature. While less commonly worshiped than his siblings, he holds significance in various folk rituals.

Mythology

Born from the right eye of Izanagi during the purification ritual, Tsukuyomi symbolizes the cyclic nature of time. His mythos is often less emphasized compared to Amaterasu’s and Susanoo’s tales, signaling the duality of light and darkness.
