Susanoo-no-Mikoto

Susanoo-no-Mikoto is the kami of storms and the sea, known for his tumultuous nature and heroic deeds. His narratives in Shinto texts illustrate his adventurous spirit, conflicts with Amaterasu, and his ultimate redemption through the defeat of the serpent Yamata-no-Orochi, from whose tail he found the Kusanagi sword.

Mythology

Born from the nose of Izanagi, Susanoo was estranged from his sister Amaterasu due to his reckless behavior. After being banished to the realm of man, he proved himself by slaying the serpent Yamata-no-Orochi, bringing balance to the cosmos.
