Nizuki

Nizuki is the kami of the moon worshipped at a shrine in the Tsukushi region. Villagers perform monthly rituals to honor the lunar cycles, believing that Nizuki governs aspects of fertility and harvesting crops in alignment with the moon's phases.

Mythology

Nizuki came into existence when the first farmers prayed for assistance in aligning their planting with the moon's phases. Moved by their sincerity, the kami graciously revealed the secrets of lunar gardening.
