Konohanasakuya-hime

Konohanasakuya-hime is the goddess of cherry blossoms, representing the beauty and transience of life. As the wife of Ninigi-no-Mikoto, she embodies fertility and the flourishing of life. Her myth reflects the importance of nature and agriculture in Shinto belief, particularly the growth of rice, which is central to Japanese culture.

Mythology

In the Kojiki, she marries Ninigi and bears him three sons, demonstrating her role in the divine lineage. Her story also includes subplots about her trials—specifically a test of faith and the implications of mortality.
