Iwa Hime

Iwa Hime is a kami of rocks and stones worshipped in a rural shrine in the Ise region. Locals believe that this kami protects their homes from disasters and provides spiritual grounding through their connection to the earth's materials.

Mythology

Iwa Hime was created from sacred stones that emerged during a divine earthquake. As the ground shook, she promised to protect the villagers as long as they worshipped her and cared for the earth beneath their feet.
