Funabashi

Worshipped exclusively at a village shrine in Naniwa, Funabashi protects fishermen and sailors, ensuring safe voyages across nearby waters. Local fishermen dedicate their first catch each season to this kami, as gratitude for blessings and protection at sea.

Mythology

Local legend recounts the tale of a young fisherman who, after a terrible storm, prayed to Funabashi for safe passage. Miraculously, he survived, and from that day forward, he spread awareness of the kami's protective nature to all fishermen.
