Shinto Purification vs Reiki

Reiki is a modern energy system. Shinto purification is older, kami-centered, and begins with cleansing.

Reiki is a modern healing system developed in the early twentieth century. It is built around attunements, symbols, hand positions, and the transmission of universal energy. It treats the practitioner as a channel.

Esoteric Shinto purification is older, more rooted, and structured differently. It begins with misogi, the removal of kegare, and right relationship with the kami. The work is not built on attunement chains. It is built on cleansing, sincerity, and contact with the sacred.

Reiki adds. Shinto purification removes first. That difference shapes everything that follows.

Why the Difference Matters

When a person is spiritually heavy, more energy work can press the heaviness deeper. Purification clears the field so anything that follows lands cleanly.

Esoteric Shinto Healing Arts is not against Reiki. It simply teaches that purification should come first.
